World Hypertension Day: 4 out of 10 adults worldwide have high blood pressure

It’s called the ‘silent killer’ because most people don’t even know they have high blood pressure. Even people in good shape who are not overweight can have it. African Americans are especially susceptible.
And it can be easily controlled with just a few lifestyle changes and relatively inexpensive medication.

A Wits University study indicates between 42 and 54% of South Africans are sufferers.
