The south is a spectacular place to live, but it does have a dark side. There is poverty, and ignorance, and all the things that arise from those problems. The KKK is one of those things, but like the root causes, it is slowly fading away. And the beauty of the place continues to attract people from all over the country. So when the ugliness raises its head, we appear to the rest of the country backward and dangerous. The KKK may draw lots of attention. The murder of innocent blacks in a church paints all of the south with a bad brush. For those of us who live here, we hang our heads with disgust. That is not the south we know.
KKK plans rally in South Carolina today-but hey, that flag's not about hate, right? :/ http://t.co/koPaBLEMQ6
