South Carolina Dems Add Senior Staff

Columbia, SC- The South Carolina Democratic Party filled two senior staff positions with experienced political operatives this summer.  Jessica Church joined the South Carolina Democratic Party as Political Director and Diane May will now serve as the Party’s Communications Director.

“Jessica and Diane are smart, creative, and incredibly talented,” SCDP Executive Director Jason Perkey said. “We are building a party and a professional staff that is dedicated to bringing people together for something bigger and better than ourselves.  Adding dedicated people like Jessica and Diane is another step in that direction.”

A native of Roanoke, VA, Jessica Church comes to South Carolina after serving as political director and aide to the senior advisor of Correct The Record, a democratic superPAC in Washington, DC. Prior to that, she worked as an associate for Eleison, LLC where she formulated and executed values-based communication strategies for non-profits, corporations, and independent expenditure efforts. Jessica also managed the Good Steward Campaign, a faith-based environmental organization that encouraged religious groups on college campuses to take thoughtful action on climate change.

Originally from Indianapolis, IN, Diane May joins the South Carolina Democratic Party after working as a national communications consultant for Democratic State Legislative Caucuses. She began working in politics in 2006, and since then has held numerous positions in research and communications for progressive campaigns throughout the country.
