SC Dems: New Poll Shows Democrats Are Fighting on the Right Side of the Issues

Columbia, SC—Today South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison issued the following statement in response to recently released polling in South Carolina by Public Policy Polling (PPP).

From expanding Medicaid to raising the minimum wage, today’s poll shows South Carolina Democrats are fighting on the right side of issues that matter most to everyone.

“For example, 54% of Republicans (66% statewide) agree with Democrats that South Carolina should raise the minimum wage.

“86% of South Carolinians believe Governor Nikki Haley and Republicans in the legislature should stop playing politics and invest in transportation infrastructure and fix our dilapidated roads.

“A whopping 77% (75% of the GOP) agree that there needs to be a waiting period before purchasing a gun.

“In short, South Carolina Democrats care about making sure everyone has an opportunity to succeed, not just a small handful of wealthy political donors.  And we’re looking forward to making this case across the State in the months ahead.”
